YMCA Swimming's National Top 10!
The YMCA of the USA released its top 10 list, recognizing the top 10 fastest times swum in the nation by YMCA swimmers in each event by age, from 11-18 years old, for the past short course season, 2010-2011. LY had several swimmers make the list, including FIVE swims that ranked NUMBER ONE:
Among 11 year old girls, Kelsey Childress posted the 9th fastest 100 yard backstroke time and the 8th fastest 200 IM time; among 13 year olds girls, Ashley Mauzy posted the 10th fastest 1000 yard free, the 8th fastest 200 back and 200 fly, the 7th fastest 100 fly, and the 5th fastest 400 IM, while Anna Meinke posted the 10th fastest 400 yard IM and Amanda Naylor posted the 8th fastest 1650 yard free. Among 17 year old girls, Susannah White posted the 9th fastest 400 yard IM, the 3rd fastest 100 yard free and 200 yard breast, the 2nd fastest 50 yard free, and the FASTEST 100 yard breast and 200 yard IM!
The 13-14 girls 400 free relay ranked 16th (Ashley, Alyssa Reed, Amanda, Anna), while the 200 medley relay ranked 15th (Ashley, CT Skorcz, Alyssa, Amanda), and the 400 medley ranked 10th (Ashley, CT, Anna, Alyssa), and the 200 free relay ranked 9th (Ashley, Anna, Alyssa, CT).
On the boys side: Ethan Navarro ranked 10th among 12 year old boys in the 200 IM, 8th in the 50 back, 7th in the 100 free, 6th in the 100 breast, 5th in the 50 fly, 4th in the 500 free, and NUMBER ONE in the 50 breast! Devin Creger ranked 9th in the 500 free among 12 year olds, and 10th in the 1000 free among 13 year olds. Among 14 year olds, Logan White posted the 9th fastest time in the 1000 free, 8th in the 200 fly and 400 IM, and 6th in ther 1650 freestyle. Caleb Williams ranked 9th in the 400 IM among 16 year old boys, and 5th in the 200 free, 4th in the 500 free, and 3rd in the 200 backstroke. Kemp Pettyjohn ranked 8th in the 500 free for 17 year olds and 9th in the 1650 free, and for 18 year olds, Kemp posted the 6th fastest time in the 200 free, the 3rd fastest time in the 1650 free, and posted the FASTEST time among 18 year old YMCA swimmers in the 500 yard freestyle! Carter Watson ranked 7th in the 100 yard freestyle for 18 year olds while Andrew Cook ranked 9th in the 200 fly, 4th in the 1,000 free, 3rd in the 500 free, and NUMBER ONE in the 1650 freestyle!
The 11-12 boys 200 medley relay of Josh Hankey, Ethan Navarro, Devin Creger, and Matthew Owen picked up the 16th spot. And among 15 & over relays, Kemp, Caleb, Alex Soderman and Carter Watson finished 9th in the 800 free relay.
