LY SWIM TEAM
FINANCIAL OBLIGATION
LY Swim Team short course fees are payable in eight monthly installments, from September through April. They will be paid by bank draft with your regular monthly fees for Y membership. After October 31st, you are obligated to pay all eight months of the short course season, UNLESS you make prior arrangement with Lisa (if you don't think your swimmer will make 8 months, just talk to Lisa). If your swimmer wishes to withdraw before October 31st, please let TJ or Lisa know in writing.
If your swimmer opts to continue swimming through the long course season (May through July), you will continue to be billed monthly.
Registration Fee: $85.00 This fee includes USAS registration and swimmer will receive a t-shirt & cap.
For swimmers in the Gold or Blue groups who wish to register as YMCA ONLY swimmers, the registration fee is only $30. The swimmer will receive a t-shirt & cap and can upgrade to USAS status at any time by paying the additional $55. YMCA ONLY swimmers cannot compete in USAS meets, but they can participate in YMCA meets.
Fundraising Fee: $220.00 per family. In addition to monthly dues, each family is obligated to raise an additional $220. If you raise MORE than the $220 obligation, 50% of the funds you raise above $220 will go directly back to you to help reduce your swimmers' monthly dues. We have many families who greatly reduce their dues through our fundraising program! (groups)
MONTHLY FEE SECOND SWIMMER

Varsity: $75.00 $65
Platinum Group: $70.00 $60
Gold Group: $ 60.00 $50

All swimmers are required to be members of the YMCA. The monthly fee for individual students is $26. The monthly family fee is $72. New to the Y? Join the Y in September as a member of the LY Swim Team and your YMCA initiation fee will be waived!
A FUNDRAISING COMMITMENT of $220.00 is required of all swimmers’ families. You can reduce your fees through our AFR program!
Ø SELLING ADS for our Handbook. This is a great, easy way to wrap up your fundraising obligation early. Ads are sold to businesses (or families) at rates of $35, $55, and $100 and more. You will receive information in your registration packet.
Ø PIRANHA
PALOOZA, a pay-per-lap event in which kids approach family or neighbors to
ask that they pledge an amount of their choice for each lap that the children
swim. This is a team activity and all
swimmers are encouraged to take part, whether they are fundraising or now. A date will be announced
(probably mid-winter)
Ø
OUT-OF-POCKET payment – some people find it easiest just to pay this fee themselves, and that is fine - whatever suits you!
Ø
SCRIP is an easy way to fulfill your obligation without any extra out of pocket
expenses (we all buy groceries). 5% of all script purchases are credited to your fundraising account.
Contact TJ and/or Lisa to order Scrip.
Forms are also available
on-line at WWW.LYSWIMMING.ORG.
If you purchase $125 worth of groceries per week, you can
satisfy your fundraising commitment in 8 months without doing anything else.
This year, 50% of all money you
raise above your $220 obligation will go directly to reduce your dues. So if you do a great job selling ads AND you
use your Food Lion or Kroger Scrip, you can reduce your monthly fees markedly.
What about meet costs?
The fees for all meets will be spelled out on the Meet Invitation your swimmer will receive in their folder prior to each meet. Meet fees vary from meet to meet with the average fee for a typical three day invitational running about $45. Championship meets fees are more. YMCA meet fees are usually considerably less.
If your
swimmer wants to attend a meet, you must fill out the meet form and return it
with a check to either TJ or Lisa’s folder at the swimming pool by the date
specified on the meet form. In general
this will be at least two weeks prior to the starting day of the meet. Only swimmers who return their form and check
will be entered in a meet.
