LY Swimming Equipment Page
LY Swimmers will need certain equipment for practices and some for meets. This equipment will primarily be based on the group that the swimmer is in, and each swimmer needs to have the proper equipment at each and every practice. If you need equipment please contact Mr. Jack Parker at Bikes Unlimited; 385-4157. Extra team T-Shirts and swim caps can be purchased from Coach Liston and Coach Lisa.. If you wear your hair long you will also need to wear a swim cap or a scrunchy during practice to keep your hair out of your face.

OTHER EQUIPMENT:
Suits for male swimmers should be regular, bikini-style speedos. While young swimmers might prefer the jammer-style suit, we feel these suits impede their ability to properly learn stroke mechanics because they weigh down the swimmer's hips and lower their position in the water. We understand that some kids are shy and embarrassed about wearing the little suits and we will allow jammers. However, this suit is not in the best interest of your swimmer and we will continue to encourage all male swimmers to purchase regular suits. For the same reason, drag suits are only encouraged for the stronger, older swimmer, both male and female. Please do not purchase a drag suit without checking with Coach Liston first. Team suits may be purchased at Bikes Unlimited.
T-Shirts: Extra T-shirts for swimmers or parents can be purchased from Coach Liston or Coach Lisa.
